The American Heart Association (AHA) has selected eight companies to participate in the Heart and Brain Health Accelerator, a specialty track within the 2026 MedTech Innovator (MTI) Accelerator. The program is designed to advance novel medical or digital health technologies aligned with the AHA's mission to improve cardiovascular and brain health. The startups were chosen from a highly competitive global pool and represent some of the most promising early- and mid-stage medical technology companies.
The selected cohort includes Cerevia Neurosciences, which is developing a non-invasive neuromodulation platform for dementia; Chambertech, focusing on minimally invasive hybrid ablation for atrial fibrillation; Envera Medical, creating a neurovascular balloon catheter for safer embolization procedures; Eupnoos, which uses acoustic breath biomarkers to detect heart failure and lung injury at home; Flux Robotics, developing magnetically guided systems for navigating complex arteries; Lucentia, with software that turns routine CT scans into virtual coronary CT angiography for early heart disease detection; OMINI, offering a portable point-of-care platform for monitoring chronic diseases like heart failure; and Prima Medical, providing real-time AI treatment guidance for pulsed field catheter ablation.
Lisa Suennen, managing partner of American Heart Association Ventures, stated, "Novel approaches to tackling today’s most pressing challenges are what will drive us forward in addressing the age-old challenges of improving heart and brain health." The accelerator connects these high-potential companies with expertise, resources, and networks to bring impactful advancements to patients and clinicians. The cohort was selected by an AHA advisory committee of clinical, investment, and industry experts, evaluating applicants based on innovation, clinical impact, and potential to improve patient care.
As participants, the companies receive specialized mentorship from AHA Ventures and become official members of the MedTech Innovator program, gaining access to networking, funding, and increased visibility. They also qualify to compete in the MedTech Innovator Competition Finals at The MedTech Conference in Boston on October 18-21, 2026, and are included in the inaugural MTI Index, a recognition platform for promising medtech companies.
This collaboration between AHA Ventures and Studio Red continues to identify innovations that aim to improve patient outcomes, expand access to care, and address critical gaps in cardiovascular and neurological health.
