ams OSRAM Extends CEO Aldo Kamper's Contract Through 2031

The Supervisory Board of ams-OSRAM AG has approved the reappointment of Chief Executive Officer Aldo Kamper, extending his contract through September 30, 2031. The new contract takes effect October 1, 2026, replacing his previous term that was set to expire on March 31, 2027. Kamper has served as CEO since April 2023.

Dr. Margarete Haase, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, highlighted Kamper's achievements: "As CEO, Aldo Kamper has strategically realigned ams OSRAM and laid the foundation for sustainable growth. Under his leadership, key milestones have been achieved - from the successful implementation of the ‘Re-establish the Base’ efficiency program to the strengthening of the financial base and the clear positioning of ams OSRAM in the attractive digital photonics field." The extension signals the Board's full confidence in Kamper's leadership.

Kamper expressed gratitude and outlined his vision: "I would like to thank the Supervisory Board for its trust and am proud of everything the entire ams OSRAM team has accomplished over the past few years. Together, we have established the basis for the next growth phase as a focused technology company. I look forward to continuing along this path with determination and further developing ams OSRAM as the leading company in the fast-growing field of digital photonics."

Kamper's career at OSRAM began in 1994 in Regensburg, where he held various leadership roles in Europe and the United States. As CEO of the Opto Semiconductors business unit from 2010, he pioneered microLED technology, dynamic front-end lighting, and high-performance LED roadmaps, while expanding the global manufacturing footprint. He later served as CEO of Leoni AG from 2018.

Since becoming CEO of ams-OSRAM AG, Kamper launched the strategic efficiency program "Re-establish the Base" to focus the portfolio and strengthen profitability. Under his leadership, group structures were streamlined, business units gained clear responsibilities, and debt was substantially reduced. The sale of the non-optical sensing business was completed on July 1, 2026, establishing a sound financial foundation for profitable growth in the optical core business and future areas like augmented reality and data communication.

This extension is significant because it provides long-term stability for ams OSRAM as it executes its digital photonics strategy. Kamper holds a degree in business administration from Maastricht University and an MBA from Stanford University. More information is available at https://ams-osram.com.
