Autonomic AI Unveils AssuredCode-C for Real-Time Code Generation in Mission-Critical Systems

Autonomic AI, LLC has announced AssuredCode-C, a specialized high-assurance software synthesis engine designed for mission-critical military platforms, hypersonic vehicles, and autonomous defense hardware. This move comes shortly after the company unveiled its original AssuredCode product, signaling a focused push into the defense sector.

Unlike general-purpose large language models (LLMs) that generate code across a broad spectrum of applications, AssuredCode-C is deliberately constrained. It restricts code generation to MISRA-compliant bare-metal C, a language known for its safety and determinism, ensuring that the output meets the stringent requirements of air-gapped embedded systems. The platform operates offline, where engineers create templates that serve as specifications for the code generator. These templates are exhaustively tested and simulated, which is crucial for maintaining safety in autonomous operations.

The platform's performance benchmarks are striking: synthesis speed per code block is under 0.5 milliseconds, and energy consumption averages around 2 Joules per passing module. This efficiency is roughly 1/100th that of traditional LLM inference pipelines, enabling real-time code generation on power-constrained devices like micro-UAVs and tactical hardware. This capability could be a game-changer for systems that need to adapt to changing conditions without draining their power reserves.

To ensure zero downtime and prevent catastrophic failures, AssuredCode-C integrates a Blue-Green deployment architecture. In this setup, live sensor frames are split across two isolated partitions: Blue, which is authoritative and controls actuators, and Green, a shadow environment where newly generated code is tested but not actuated. The Green outputs are verified through automated comparison and safety gates, with the option for human-in-the-loop (HITL) oversight for tactical missions. Once safety checks pass, authority is transferred atomically to Green, and the former Blue becomes the new shadow, providing instant version failover.

John Harby, Founder and CEO of Autonomic AI, emphasized the importance of safety in autonomous environments. "In autonomous environments, safety must be top priority. 'Statistically probable' software is a critical vulnerability," he said. "AssuredCode-C does not look to compete with LLM code generation. AssuredCode-C is a razor-focused, military-grade engine designed to output exact, MISRA-compliant bare-metal C in under half a millisecond while drawing a fraction of the power required by conventional AI."

The implications of this technology are significant. For defense systems, the ability to generate verified code in real time could enhance adaptability and resilience in contested environments. In the private sector, autonomous vehicles and industrial systems could benefit from similar capabilities, improving safety and efficiency. As the software industry moves toward AI-generated code, AssuredCode-C represents a specialized approach that prioritizes safety and determinism over versatility.

Autonomic AI is now offering AssuredCode-C for integration evaluation under non-disclosure agreements, classified site demonstrations, and pilot deployment with U.S. Defense Primes and allied agencies. The technology is patent pending.
