Wellington, Florida – BarnPilot, a developer of equestrian management software, has announced the Watcher system and Sentinel program, designed to integrate supported barn cameras into its broader horse-centered platform. The initiative addresses a common pain point for horse owners: fragmented information across schedules, health records, riding apps, and camera systems. By consolidating these elements, BarnPilot aims to create a unified equestrian command center.
Scott Morvay, founder and principal developer of BarnPilot, emphasized that the goal is not just another app with horse profiles but a comprehensive system that connects daily care, records, riding, navigation, remote barn visibility, communication, and decision support. Having spent years in show jumping, Morvay experienced firsthand the challenges of managing disparate tools. BarnPilot, available on iPhone, iPad, and Android, now includes camera monitoring as a key component.
The monitoring experience begins with Camera Focus, a view for supported fixed barn cameras that allows owners to check live feeds, see monitoring status, and review alerts within the same platform that holds schedules and records. Watcher provides ongoing awareness with Equine Watcher for horse-specific monitoring and Farm Watch for broader visibility of people, vehicles, and packages. Sentinel offers focused monitoring for specific concerns, where users describe a visible condition, and the system alerts them if the camera detects a match.
Morvay clarified that Sentinel is not a diagnostic tool but a way to watch for specific visible conditions. BarnPilot evaluates motion-triggered still images rather than continuous video, and its features are informational, not replacements for in-person observation or veterinary care. Lighting, camera position, and network conditions can affect visibility.
The significance of these monitoring tools lies in their integration with BarnPilot's existing features, including horse records, ride journal, navigation, and communication tools. The platform also includes AI-assisted tools for organizing records and preparing questions for professionals. It supports multiple languages and offers a live voice-translation workflow for barn communication.
Wellington, Florida, a hub for equestrian activity, provides a testing ground for BarnPilot's development. The area's high concentration of horses and professionals highlights the need for coordinated technology. Local Navigator coverage includes equestrian destinations in Wellington, and guided onboarding for supported cameras is available in the region.
BarnPilot currently works with supported third-party cameras, but Morvay is developing an equine-specific camera detection model and purpose-built hardware. A desktop experience is also in progress. These projects are in development and not yet available, but they signal BarnPilot's ambition to become equestrian infrastructure.
Morvay envisions a future where horse monitoring is part of a connected system that provides context and helps the right people see the right things. Learn more about horse monitoring with Watcher and Sentinel at BarnPilot Cameras. For press inquiries, visit BarnPilot Press.
