Registered dietitian, sports nutrition specialist, and founder of 'Purposeful Fueling', Beth McCall has announced the release of her debut book, Hello Peace, published by Lucid Books. The book invites women to trade fear, comparison, and shame for lasting peace in Christ through a deeply personal narrative interwoven with biblical truth, reflection, and guided journaling prompts.
In a culture that constantly tells women they must measure up to impossible standards, Hello Peace offers a refreshing invitation to lay down the exhausting pursuit of perfection and experience the freedom found in Christ. Drawing from her own journey through an eating disorder, pregnancy, and motherhood, McCall speaks with vulnerability and compassion to women who have struggled to feel at peace with their bodies or identity.
McCall said the book was born during a season of deep prayer while she was pregnant with her son. 'I was wrestling with fear, identity, and old wounds, and I sensed the Lord gently leading me to take what He was teaching me in private and turn it into something that could encourage other women,' she stated in the announcement.
More than a memoir, Hello Peace serves as an interactive spiritual companion, inviting readers to reflect on their own stories through thoughtfully designed journaling prompts and Scripture-based application. McCall's transparent storytelling creates space for women to process their own experiences while discovering that true peace is found not through changing themselves, but through allowing God to transform their hearts.
As a registered dietitian and sports nutrition specialist with more than a decade of experience serving high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, McCall has spent her career helping others pursue physical wellness. Yet she believes lasting health extends far beyond nutrition and fitness. 'Our culture spends so much time teaching women how to change their bodies,' she said. 'God wants to transform our hearts. Real freedom comes when our identity is anchored in Christ instead of our reflection in the mirror.'
McCall credits her faith, along with the encouragement of her husband and growing family, for inspiring both her writing and her ministry. While writing Hello Peace, she learned that vulnerability is not a weakness but an act of obedience. 'One of the greatest challenges was having the courage to share the parts of my story that are still tender,' she said. 'But I've learned that God often uses the places where we've experienced healing to help bring healing to others.'
When asked what advice she would give aspiring authors, McCall offers simple but powerful encouragement: 'Just begin. I never started journaling because I planned to write a book. I simply had something on my heart and followed where God was leading. If you feel even the slightest nudge to write, take that first step and stay open to what God might do with your story.'
Hello Peace is published by Lucid Books, an independent hybrid publisher in the Houston area that partners with authors to inspire, inform, and enrich the lives of their readers.
