CHARBONE CORPORATION (TSXV: CH; OTCQB: CHHYF; FSE: K47), a North American producer and distributor of clean Ultra High Purity (UHP) hydrogen and industrial gases, has announced its comprehensive 2026-2030 strategic plan, marking a transformation into an integrated, global industrial gas group. The plan builds on the company's foundation in decarbonized UHP hydrogen and aims to expand into UHP gases, specialty gases, and, in North America, UHP industrial atmospheric gases to strengthen recurring revenue and operational efficiency.
The company positions itself as a premium mid-tier player, more agile than major gas suppliers and complementary to regional distributors, with a focus on quality, metrology, and traceability. This strategy targets critical industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence and data centers, advanced pharmaceuticals, and aerospace and defense technologies, which require impeccable quality, speed of execution, and security of supply.
Growth will be driven by a two-pillar strategy in North America. Pillar A focuses on UHP and specialty gases with high margins, including UHP Hydrogen (HyChem UHP™), Helium, Electronic Gases, and Specialty Gases. Pillar B targets industrial and atmospheric gases for recurring revenue, including Oxygen, Nitrogen, UHP Argon, CO2, and Industrial Blends, to build a stable revenue base and optimize logistics. This hybrid approach increases commercial depth, customer loyalty, and financial resilience, with a focus on strengthening presence in the Northeast and Pacific technology corridor of the US.
The company plans to deploy 6 to 8 regional hubs in North America and internationally, using a hub-and-spoke model to reduce time-to-market, standardize operations, strengthen customer relationships, and optimize logistics costs. This disciplined operating model supports growth while maintaining capital discipline ahead of additional industrial gases production capacity. The Sorel-Tracy plant in Quebec remains the anchor and foundation for North American expansion.
International expansion targets Europe and Asia-Pacific, with a strategic UHP platform in Germany and an Asian hub in Malaysia for semiconductors and electronics. Expansion will follow an asset-light approach focused on partnerships and structuring contracts. Dave B. Gagnon, CHARBONE's Chairman and CEO, stated, 'At CHARBONE, we are not changing direction, we are expanding it with discipline. We started with one molecule: clean UHP hydrogen. Today, we are building an integrated platform of high-value industrial gases, tailored to the critical needs of the industries of the future.'
