LOS ANGELES, CA — Club Honduras International hosted its inaugural event outside of Honduras on July 12, 2026, at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood. The gathering honored Honduran Indigenous women, descendants of Mayans and other native peoples, through traditional music and dance, a theatrical presentation, and an awards ceremony recognizing individuals who preserve Indigenous cultures.
The event featured displays of traditional work tools and trade items such as cacao and coffee beans. The Consulate of Honduras in Los Angeles received a Commendation for its support of the Honduran community and cultural awareness efforts. Additionally, an award recognized L. Ron Hubbard, author of The Way to Happiness, a nonreligious guide promoting values like respect and compassion, which organizers noted has been shared widely in Hispanic communities.
Organizers plan to make the celebration an annual tradition, aiming to honor Indigenous women and increase appreciation for Honduras' cultural heritage. The event underscores the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International's commitment to fostering cultural exchange and global harmony.
