Comedy Village, a live comedy venue located in the heart of Times Square, is observing Women’s Comedy History Month with a series of performances that highlight women in stand-up comedy. Founded by comedian PJ Landers, the club has built a reputation for supporting both established performers and emerging voices, and this month’s curated lineup continues that tradition.
Throughout March, Comedy Village will host themed performances including “Women of a Certain Age,” created and hosted by veteran comedian Carol Montgomery; “Chismosa,” featuring emerging Latina comics hosted by Paula J. Leon; and “Wang’s World,” spotlighting Asian women in comedy hosted by Taiwanese comedian Vicki Wang. These shows are designed to showcase the range and impact of women in comedy.
As part of the celebration, the venue is offering VIP admission for women to select shows this weekend, providing audiences an opportunity to experience live stand-up in one of New York City’s most active comedy districts. The lineup also includes nationally recognized talent such as Brittany Brave and Carmen Lynch. Brave, a New York-based comedian originally from Miami, has appeared on NBC, MTV, The Wendy Williams Show, and SiriusXM, and was named a 2024 “Comic to Watch” at the New York Comedy Festival. Lynch, a bilingual comedian, has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, with credits including Inside Amy Schumer and That Damn Michael Che.
“Comedy Village has always been about giving great comics a stage,” said Landers. “This month, we’re proud to highlight some of the women shaping comedy today and give them a platform in the heart of Times Square.”
Originally founded in 2004 in Greenwich Village, Comedy Village expanded to its current Times Square location in 2024 and now hosts nightly shows in one of the world’s busiest entertainment districts. With a rotating lineup of performers and a commitment to diversity, the venue continues to position itself as a destination for both locals and visitors seeking live comedy in New York City.
