The program reflects a continued investment in community over content. Rather than introducing another course or training module into the crowded online business education market, Darren and Mike have designed the initiative to increase access to real guidance. "The first few months are where most people either build momentum or lose it," said Mike Dreher, co-founder of The Dream Team. "This initiative is about making sure nobody gets stuck in that stretch without someone to turn to. We've seen how much of a difference it makes when someone has a specific person to ask, instead of trying to sort through generic advice on their own."
Darren Ewert, co-founder alongside Dreher, said the initiative grew out of consistent feedback from the community itself. "Our members have told us, over and over, that the mentorship relationship is what makes the difference for them, more than any tool or resource we've built. So we asked what more we could do specifically on that front, and this initiative is the answer to that question."
The Dream Team's broader mission has centered on mentorship since its founding, built on the idea that aspiring entrepreneurs do better with structured guidance and a supportive community than they do trying to piece together a path on their own from scattered, often contradictory information. This initiative is designed to reinforce that mission at scale as the community continues to grow well beyond its original size.
The rollout includes expanded access to mentors for new members during their first several months, additional structured check-ins during the onboarding process, and more opportunities for peer-to-peer connection within the broader Dream Team community. Darren and Mike say the goal is to make sure the mentorship experience scales alongside the community rather than becoming diluted as more people join.
