Dr. Ian Weisberg, a distinguished cardiac electrophysiologist, has launched the Dr. Ian Weisberg Grant for Future Healthcare Leaders, a new scholarship program designed to support undergraduate students pursuing careers in healthcare. The grant provides a one-time award of $1,000 to a deserving student enrolled in a pre-medical or pre-health track at an accredited college or university.

Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled as undergraduates and pursuing fields such as pre-med, pre-nursing, pre-PA, or pre-pharmacy. They must maintain a strong academic record and submit a complete application by the July 15, 2026 deadline. The application requires a 750–1,000 word essay responding to a prompt that asks students to describe a personal experience that solidified their commitment to healthcare, how it shaped their understanding of patient care, and how they plan to carry those lessons forward into future practice.

According to the announcement, the grant reflects Dr. Weisberg's longstanding commitment to advancing healthcare and fostering the next generation of medical professionals. Dr. Weisberg is known for his pioneering contributions to cardiac care, including developing electrophysiology programs, performing high-volume life-saving procedures, and contributing to global health initiatives such as designing a cardiac operating room in Kenya. The scholarship winner will be selected based on academic achievement, essay quality, and demonstrated commitment to healthcare. The recipient will be announced on August 15, 2026. Through this initiative, Dr. Weisberg aims to cultivate healthcare professionals who combine clinical excellence with compassion and innovation, emphasizing that healthcare extends beyond hospital walls.

Dr. Ian Weisberg stated, "The Dr. Ian Weisberg Grant embodies a commitment to fostering the next wave of healthcare leaders who will carry forward the principles of excellence, empathy, and innovation.
