Engineer Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX-V: EAU | OTC: EGMLF | WKN: A3EEVJ) has announced that its 2026 Phase I exploration program is now underway on its wholly owned Engineer Gold Project, located 30 kilometres southwest of Atlin in northwestern British Columbia. The program aims to expand on the high-grade gold mineralization at the historic Engineer Gold Mine and advance the TAG Property, both key components of the 18,319-hectare property that covers a 25-kilometre contiguous claim block.
The Phase I program includes soil and rock sampling at the Engineer Mine, soil geochemistry at the TAG Property, and an in-depth core review and resampling at TAG. The company is fully permitted to proceed with a Phase II program, which will include diamond drilling, excavator trenching, and induced polarization geophysical surveys in the Engineer Mine area. Phase II plans will be announced once finalized.
The Engineer Gold Project hosts multiple styles of mineralization, including high-grade epithermal gold-silver veins, polymetallic veins, and structurally controlled bulk-tonnage gold systems. The Phase I work at the Engineer Mine is designed to expand known high-grade mineralization and adjacent bulk-tonnage targets along strike of previously identified structural corridors, Shear A and Shear B. These structures have been traced by geophysics and geochemistry for over three kilometres south of the past-producing mine.
At the TAG Property, located six kilometres north of the Engineer Mine, Phase I work includes a rigorous core review and infill core sampling program. Historical drilling from 2006 to 2008 totalled 11,520 metres in 69 holes (ARIS reports #30931 and #29581). Recent core re-examination indicated that several drill intercepts crossing the mineralized trend were not fully sampled, and samples were not collected adjacent to intervals with significant gold values. Once infill sampling is completed, a detailed model will be produced to target potential expansion of gold mineralization and update the resource estimate for TAG. Additional soil geochemical sampling at TAG will target anomalous gold and silver values uphill from known mineralization, suggesting a potential subparallel second mineralizing structure.
Linda Dandy, P.Geo., a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical content of this news release. The Engineer Gold Project encompasses three principal target areas: the Engineer Gold Mine, the TAG Property, and the Wann River prospect. The historic Engineer Gold Mine was a past-producing underground operation with historical production between 1910 and 1952 totalling approximately 14,263 tonnes grading 39.4 g/t gold and 19.5 g/t silver (BC Minfile 104M014).
The Wann River prospect, located four kilometres south of the Engineer Mine, represents a highly prospective orogenic gold target associated with the Llewellyn Fault. Historic drilling and surface sampling have returned significant gold and silver values, including a quartz grab sample of 263 g/t gold and 1,350 g/t silver from the Lum showing (ARIS Report #32004). The current Phase I program marks an important step in advancing the project toward potential resource expansion and new discoveries.
