GEA Reports Profitable Growth in 2025, Achieves Climate Targets Early, Expects Accelerated Revenue Growth in 2026

GEA, a technology company specializing in systems and components for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, reported its 2025 financial results, highlighting significant growth and profitability gains. The company achieved a 6.7% increase in order intake to EUR 5.9 billion, with organic growth of 9.1%, driven by all divisions. Revenue rose 1.4% to EUR 5.5 billion, with organic growth of 3.7% at the upper end of its guidance range. EBITDA before restructuring expenses increased 8.4% to EUR 907 million, and the EBITDA margin before restructuring expenses improved to 16.5%, above the upgraded guidance. Net working capital improved to 3.2% of revenue from 6.0% in 2024. The company proposed a dividend of EUR 1.30 per share, up from EUR 1.15.

GEA also made progress on its Mission 30 strategic growth drivers. Sustainable technologies now account for over 45% of revenue, with a target of 60% by 2030. Revenue from alternative proteins (New Food) reached approximately EUR 70 million, and digital solutions generated around EUR 80 million. The service business contributed EUR 2.2 billion, representing 40% of total revenue. The vitality index—revenue from solutions less than five years old—rose to nearly 20%, with a target of 30% by 2030. Order intake in above-average growth verticals surged 30%.

In sustainability, GEA achieved key interim climate targets early, reducing Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 62% compared to 2019 by end-2025, a year ahead of schedule. Scope 3 emissions were down 38% from 2019, putting the company on track for net-zero by 2040. The GEA Foundation donated over EUR 4 million to charitable causes.

Fiscal year 2025 marked several milestones, including GEA's entry into the DAX index, one of the largest contracts in its history—the construction of the world's biggest integrated milk powder production plant in Algeria worth EUR 140-170 million—and a streamlined organizational structure. The number of divisions was reduced to four: Pure Flow Processing, Nutrition Plant Engineering, Pharma & Food Applications, and Farm Technologies. CEO Stefan Klebert's contract was extended until end-2028.

For 2026, GEA expects organic revenue growth of 5.0-7.0% and an EBITDA margin before restructuring expenses of 16.6-17.2%. ROCE is forecasted between 34.0% and 38.0%. The company's strong order backlog, agile organization, and global demand for sustainable systems are key growth drivers.
