Hinggan League's Agricultural, Cultural and Tourism Consumption Carnival Opens in Beijing, Showcasing Green Development and Industry Upgrades

Beijing witnessed the launch of the Hinggan League Agricultural, Cultural and Tourism Consumption Carnival, themed "Taste the Best of Hinggan, Discover the Grasslands in Beijing," marking a significant step in promoting the region's premium ecological products. The event served as a platform for industry professionals, buyers, and media to explore Hinggan League's offerings, emphasizing the tangible outcomes of its green development strategies.

The carnival spotlighted the league's beef cattle and rice industries, which have become cornerstones of its economic growth. Located in a golden latitude belt for agriculture and animal husbandry, Hinggan League has leveraged its natural advantages to implement coordinated industrial plans. The beef cattle industry, in particular, has seen substantial advancements, including the establishment of a national-level bull breeding station and the production of over 5.5 million doses of high-quality frozen semen annually. These efforts are complemented by a robust technical service system that supports herders in adopting scientific practices, while the Forage Industry Processing, Logistics and Trading Park in Keyouzhong Banner has begun operations, converting crop straw into high-quality feed. Microbial fermentation technology has also reduced daily feeding costs per head, securing the industry's foundational supply chain.

On the branding and sales front, the beef cattle industry is transitioning from selling live cattle to selling branded products. The region has developed more than 100 product categories for e-commerce and foodservice channels, established a livestreaming e-commerce center, and set up marketing hubs in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The official launch of regional public brands such as "Keyouzhong Banner Beef" signals a mature modern industry chain.

Similarly, the rice industry's success lies in its full value chain, from seed to table. The pristine ecology—clean water, soil, and air—contributes to the rice's distinctive taste. Local research teams have developed and registered 21 high-quality rice varieties over three decades, benefiting thousands of farming households. In Duerji Town, cooperatives have adopted a model of unified planting, processing, and sales, ensuring reliable channels and increased incomes. Meanwhile, in Zhalaite Banner, innovative techniques like drip irrigation under plastic film have enabled rice cultivation on dry land, saving 700 cubic meters of water per mu. As rice enters critical field management, technicians and farmers are employing scientific methods to ensure stable yields.

These industries, though seemingly distinct, are part of a coordinated strategy. The beef cattle finishing base in Zhalaite Banner, operated by a state-owned enterprise, has boosted collective village income. Additionally, all 38 enterprises authorized to use the "Hinggan League Rice" brand adhere to nine established standards, propelling the brand value beyond RMB 31 billion. The transformation from selling raw materials to selling brands and quality underscores a decade of dedicated efforts, turning ecological advantages into industrial strengths and resource benefits into community prosperity. This event in Beijing not only showcased these achievements but also highlighted the league's commitment to green development and full-chain industrialization, setting a precedent for regional economic growth.
