The 12th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show opened today at AsiaWorld-Expo, running through March 6, while the 42nd Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will be held from March 4-8 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the twin shows reaffirm their position as the world's largest one-stop jewellery marketplace, bringing together some 4,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions, with 70% coming from outside Hong Kong.
Jenny Koo, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, stated that the 'Two Shows, Two Venues' format presents an extensive range of products, including diamonds, gemstones, pearls, finished jewellery, designer brands, and industry technologies. The Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show features more than 20 pavilions, including a debut from the Zhushan Turquoise Pavilion, representing Hubei Province, known as the 'Hometown of Chinese Turquoise.' The Tanzanite Foundation and the International Colored Gemstone Association also participate, showcasing rare colored gemstones.
Key product zones include the Hall of Fine Diamonds, Treasures of Nature, and Treasures of Ocean. Highlights include a fancy intense pink VVS2 diamond from Arihant Star (HK) Limited, an 11-carat cushion-cut Colombian emerald from Emco Gem Inc., and a freshwater pearl strand from Alain Boite S.A.S. The GIA Hong Kong Laboratory Limited launches a new colored gemstone report providing clearer information on stone type, processing, and origin. Additionally, the Hong Kong Laboratory Limited offers professional testing services and promotes origin technologies for enhanced accuracy and transparency.
Industry seminars at the Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show include a session by De Beers on 'Diamonds Forever Forward: Igniting Desire for Natural Diamonds,' and Gem Lab Gübelin Gem Lab Limited on 'Sustainable Gem Practices: Provenance & Ethical Traceability,' integrating scientific testing and blockchain records. A special promotion conference for Zhushan Turquoise will also be held.
The International Jewellery Show will feature 20 group pavilions, including a debut Hard Pure Gold Pavilion by the World Gold Council and the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Pavilion. The Designer Galleria will showcase about 50 designer exhibitors, and the Hall of Fame has expanded by over 40%. Free shuttle buses between AsiaWorld-Expo and urban areas, including HKCEC, will be provided, along with facilities for Muslim buyers such as prayer rooms and shuttle buses to mosques.
The HKTDC has partnered with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to offer exclusive buyer privileges, including dining and hotel deals. The twin shows adopt an Exhibition+ online and offline hybrid format, with AI-powered Click2Match for online business matching from February 23 to March 13.
