The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) announced that its five concurrent fairs—Food Expo, Beauty & Wellness Expo, Home Delights Expo, Food Expo PRO, and Hong Kong International Tea Fair—concluded successfully, attracting over 520,000 public visits, a record high. The events, themed 'Live Well · Stay Well', brought together over 1,850 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions, showcasing the latest trends in health and wellness.

Per capita spending at the public fairs reached a record HK$1,685, with 87% of respondents indicating their spending met or exceeded budget. Over 80% expressed interest in health and wellness products, with health and functional foods (62%), supplements (51%), and wellness items (40%) being the most popular categories.

Smilely Lam, Associate Executive Director of HKTDC, noted the fairs' success: 'Attendance recorded solid growth, and per capita spending reached a record high alongside visitor numbers, reflecting strong market demand for quality food, healthy living, and novel experiences.'

The trade fairs, Food Expo PRO and Hong Kong International Tea Fair, drew around 20,000 buyers from 64 countries and regions, reinforcing Hong Kong's role as a food trading hub. The Korean Pavilion expanded by 40%, becoming the largest overseas pavilion, and HKTDC signed an MoU with the Korea Agro-fisheries & Food Trade Corporation.

The fairs also facilitated significant business deals. The Chinese Mainland premium agricultural products 'Going Global' event recorded intended transactions exceeding HK$1.8 billion, a new record. The Xizang Pavilion debuted and signed an MoU with a Hong Kong importer, with an annual cooperation value exceeding RMB100 million. Henan Yunong Youpin connected with two wholesalers, targeting RMB10 million in cooperation.

Halal food and beverage label, featured for the third year, attracted over 130 suppliers. Local brand Tai Po Chun Hing joined Food Expo PRO for the first time, showcasing halal-certified beef tendon balls and carbon-neutral beef balls. The company met over 20 buyers on the first day, expecting orders worth HK$500,000 to HK$1 million. Singapore-based SBY Frozen Food Supply identified Brazilian suppliers, with potential annual procurement of US$3-5 million.

Innovative food technologies were highlighted in the Food Science and Technology Zone, where IXON Food Technology drew over 200 buyer enquiries, with potential business value estimated at US$500,000 to US$1.3 million. The Coffee Zone at Food Expo PRO saw Hawaii Coffee Association connect with over 100 buyers, expecting to conclude business within months.

Hangzhou Jingshan Tea Development connected with buyers from Thailand, Japan, India, and Europe, with a Thai company interested in purchasing 20 tonnes of matcha powder. Kenya Pavilion reported potential deals exceeding US$10 million.

The fairs adopted a hybrid model, allowing online negotiations until August 22 via the Click2Match platform, extending business opportunities beyond the physical events.

The International Conference on the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products also concluded, with over 30 experts discussing global pathways for traditional medicine, promoting international cooperation.
