iOrganBio Appoints AI and Life Sciences Investor Jessica Owens to Board

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - iOrganBio, a company specializing in intelligent cell manufacturing, announced today the appointment of Jessica Owens to its Board of Directors. Owens is a seasoned venture investor and serial founder with over 20 years of experience building and scaling companies at the intersection of life sciences, health technology, and AI.

Owens co-founded GRAIL, a healthcare company that raised over $1 billion and formed partnerships with Bristol Myers Squibb, Merck, and Johnson & Johnson. She also co-founded Initiate Ventures, where she serves as General Partner. Her expertise spans company-building and investing in AI-driven life sciences ventures.

iOrganBio stated that Owens' counsel will be invaluable as it scales its CellForge platform, expands partnerships, and advances AI-driven cell manufacturing. CellForge is a platform that uses AI and automation to guide cell development, making real-time adjustments to ensure consistency and scalability. The platform is designed for producing cells and organoids for in vitro modeling and cell therapies.

At the core of CellForge is iOrganBio's functional human CellAtlas, a reference built from single-cell and multi-omics data that provides digital blueprints for each cell type. This closed-loop process aims to deliver accuracy, efficiency, and quality for disease modeling, regenerative medicine, and drug development.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jessica to our board," said a company representative. "Her deep understanding of AI and life sciences will help us accelerate our mission to redefine human cell manufacturing."

Owens added, "iOrganBio's approach to intelligent cell manufacturing has the potential to transform drug development and cell therapy. I look forward to contributing to their growth."

iOrganBio is based at BioLabs in Chapel Hill, NC. For more information, visit iOrgan.Bio or follow on LinkedIn.
