JoySauce, the leading lifestyle and entertainment company for "American Asians" and fans of broader Asian pop culture, has officially launched its streaming network, JoySauce TV, on the Roku Channel. This move, effective June 30, 2026, grants JoySauce access to more than 100 million households across North America, making it the first AAPI-focused channel to be added to Roku's platform. The launch follows recent distribution deals with Amazon Prime Video and Plex, solidifying JoySauce's position as the most widely distributed TV network dedicated to AAPI stories, culture, and Asian pop culture entertainment.
The expansion is a strategic step in addressing the longstanding gap in media representation for American Asians. According to Jonathan Sposato, Founder and CEO of JoySauce, "Five years ago, JoySauce started with a simple belief: American Asians deserve a much bigger stage. Today, we're building that big stage. Launching on Roku is another important step toward making Asian American stories available wherever audiences choose to watch." Sposato emphasizes that while representation matters, the network also aims to be genuinely entertaining for everyone, fostering laughter and discovery across diverse audiences.
JoySauce TV offers a growing library of original and acquired content, including scripted comedy, feature films, reality programming, documentaries, music, stand-up comedy, and community conversations. Notable programming highlights include "JoySauce Late Night," the first-ever AAPI late-night talk show; "Jokes with JoySauce," an all-AAPI standup comedy review currently in Emmy consideration; "Team Tan," which follows professional race car driver Samantha Tan; live cultural moments such as award shows; an Asian Cinema Showcase; cult classics; Asian game shows; and anime and tokusatsu programming.
The Roku launch is part of a broader trend of rapid growth for JoySauce. Over the past year, the network has expanded its distribution footprint, strengthened its original programming slate, and forged new partnerships with creators and cultural organizations. It has also submitted its original series "Jokes With JoySauce" for Emmy consideration in the category of Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama or Variety Series.
Executives at JoySauce emphasize the importance of ownership and cultural influence. Narumi Inatsugu, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, stated, "For years, the conversation centered on representation, earning a seat at someone else's table. But the next chapter is ownership. Ownership of our stories. Ownership of our platforms. Ownership of the cultural conversations shaping how America sees itself." Jake Rubin, Co-founding Executive of Digital Networks, added, "We recognized the glaring absence of the Asian Pacific American experience, coupled with the insatiable demand for Asian pop culture entertainment. Even in a 900+ channel universe, there were voids in the marketplace!"
The launch on Roku is a significant milestone for JoySauce, as it now reaches a vast audience through one of the most popular streaming platforms in North America. With additional programming announcements and platform expansions planned throughout 2026, JoySauce continues its mission to become the leading home for American Asian entertainment and culture, providing a platform where creators, communities, and great stories can thrive.
