Florida State University student Julia Pieri has been awarded the Community Impact Through Animal Service Scholarship by Blakeley Car Accident & Personal Injury Lawyers, a $2,000 prize recognizing students who support animals in need within their communities. Pieri's story, centered on her care for a foster dog named Zeke, stood out to the firm's selection committee.
Pieri stepped in to care for Zeke after her friend, who was originally fostering the dog, fell ill. "Helping care for Zeke also showed me how important foster networks are for rescue animals," Pieri explained. "Foster dogs rely on stability, routine, and kindness while they transition from uncertain pasts to hopeful futures. By stepping in while my friend was sick, I was able to help maintain that stability for him."
Currently pursuing dual degrees in Accounting and Economics with a minor in Commercial Entrepreneurship at Florida State University, Pieri balances academic rigor with extracurricular involvement. She participates in pageants, advocates for breast cancer research, and volunteers with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Her professional trajectory is equally promising: she completed a Receivable Intern role at SBA Communications in summer 2026 and is slated to join CohnReznick as a Tax Intern in 2027.
After graduation, Pieri intends to pursue a Master's degree and sit for the CPA exam, aiming to specialize in tax and public accounting. The scholarship will provide financial support for her upcoming semester, easing her path toward these career goals.
