Kinetic Dance Force (KDF), a Winter Springs dance studio, has advanced to the final round of the StarQuest Dance Competition's Viral Video of the Year contest, competing against weekly winners from across the country. The studio is asking Central Florida to vote its dancers to the national title from Monday, June 22 through Sunday, June 28, 2026.
KDF earned its place in the finale after its routine, "Rosie the Riveter," won a weekly Viral Video of the Weekend title. The nominated routine celebrates strength, resilience and female empowerment, with choreography that highlights confidence and determination in its young performers, who range in age from five to eight years old.
"This dance is about showing our dancers that they are strong, capable, and can accomplish anything they set their minds to," said KDF Owner and Artistic Director Kimmie Gehr, a Sanford native and former Radio City Rockette. "We're incredibly proud of the hard work they put into this performance, and we're hoping our community will help support them in this final round of voting."
The grand prize includes a StarQuest gift certificate for the studio to apply toward the upcoming 2027 dance season and a Dream Duffel Elite Backpack for every dancer in the routine. Voting is open now, and community members can watch the performance and vote at https://www.kdanceforce.com/rosie.
The advancement to the national finals highlights the growing recognition of KDF's commitment to developing young talent and promoting positive messages through dance. For the studio, the opportunity represents not only a chance for national exposure but also a validation of its approach to building confidence and artistry in children. Gehr emphasized that the routine's theme of empowerment resonates deeply with the dancers and their families, making the community's support all the more meaningful.
Kinetic Dance Force serves recreational and competitive dancers of all ages across Seminole County and Central Florida, offering weekly classes, competitive programs, and community performances. The studio's focus on technique, confidence, and artistry has made it a staple in the local dance scene. As the finals approach, KDF hopes the broader Central Florida community will rally behind its young performers, who have already demonstrated significant skill and passion. The outcome of the contest could provide resources to further enhance the studio's programs for the upcoming season.
Voting closes on Sunday, June 28, 2026. The winner will be announced shortly thereafter, with the prize package intended to support the studio's 2027 dance season.
