LaFleur Minerals Appoints New CEO as Trafigura Due Diligence Advances

LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) has announced a significant leadership transition and provided updates on its ongoing discussions with Trafigura Canada Limited. Andrew Elinesky has been appointed as CEO, effective immediately, bringing over two decades of senior executive and financial leadership experience to the company. Elinesky previously served as president and CEO of Sabre Gold Mines Corp., which was acquired in February 2025. In his new role, he will oversee corporate strategy, capital markets, financing, and investor relations. Former CEO Paul Ténière will continue as president and a director, focusing on technical and operational activities.

The leadership change comes at a pivotal time as LaFleur advances due diligence with Trafigura regarding proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangements. Representatives from Trafigura and company management completed a two-day site visit to the Beacon Gold Mill and Swanson Gold Project on August 10-11. The visit included an inspection of the mill and process circuits, a review of recommissioning progress, and an examination of the ongoing diamond drilling program at the Swanson Deposit. While the company notes there is no assurance that definitive agreements will be reached or on the terms currently contemplated, the progress indicates a serious evaluation of the assets' potential.

The Beacon Gold Mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, is central to LaFleur's strategy. It is being considered for processing mineralized material from the Swanson Gold Project and for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects. The company recently released a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project and the planned restart of the mill. The Swanson Gold Project encompasses 481 claims and one mining lease totaling 200.7 square kilometers, hosting several gold and critical metals prospects previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining. The project is easily accessible by road, providing direct access to several nearby gold mills, which enhances its development potential.

The appointment of Elinesky is expected to strengthen LaFleur's financial and strategic positioning. His experience in capital markets and corporate development will be crucial as the company seeks to advance its projects and secure financing. "We are pleased to welcome Andrew to the team," said Paul Ténière. "His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to progress our development plans and engage with strategic partners like Trafigura." Elinesky's track record includes guiding Sabre Gold Mines through a successful acquisition, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex corporate transactions.

For investors, these developments signal LaFleur's commitment to advancing its gold projects and establishing key partnerships. The due diligence process with Trafigura, a major global commodity trader, could lead to substantial prepayment and offtake agreements, providing financial stability and market access for future production. The company's focus on the Abitibi Gold Belt in Québec, a world-class mining region, adds to its appeal. The PEA for the Swanson project outlines a preliminary economic assessment, but it is important to note that it includes inferred mineral resources which are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the results of the PEA will be realized.

LaFleur Minerals continues to make strategic moves to position itself as a significant player in the gold mining sector. The combination of experienced leadership, advanced-stage projects, and potential strategic partnerships bodes well for the company's future. As due diligence with Trafigura progresses, the market will be watching for definitive agreements that could transform LaFleur's operational and financial landscape.
