Military Metals Corp. Commences Drilling at West Gore Antimony-Gold Project

Military Metals Corp. (CSE: MILI) (OTCQB: MILIF) (FSE: QN90) has launched an exploration diamond drilling campaign at its 100%-owned West Gore Antimony-Gold Project in Nova Scotia, marking a significant step in the development of a historically important mining area. The program comprises at least seven holes totaling 1,750 meters, with three holes targeting the down-plunge extension of the past-producing deposit below historical mine workings and four holes aimed at the Brook Vein occurrence. According to the company, the Brook Vein drilling is designed in part to test continuity from historical drill hole 87-01, which intercepted 10.27% antimony over 2.3 meters.

The West Gore project holds substantial historical significance. During World War I, it was an important antimony producer, with historical production estimated at 7,761 tonnes of antimony concentrate grading 46% antimony and 7,149 ounces of gold. Despite this rich history, Military Metals noted that the project remains significantly underexplored, with limited exploration activities since mining ceased. This drilling campaign is poised to unlock the project's full potential, particularly given the critical status of antimony.

Antimony is designated as a critical mineral by the Canadian government and is also recognized under Nova Scotia's provincial minerals strategy. This designation underscores the strategic importance of antimony, which is used in flame retardants, batteries, and as a hardening agent in alloys, as well as in military applications such as night vision goggles and infrared sensors. The renewed focus on domestic sources of critical minerals is driven by supply chain vulnerabilities and the push for resource independence.

The commencement of drilling at West Gore is a pivotal development for Military Metals, which is primarily engaged in the acquisition, exploration, and development of mineral properties with a focus on antimony. The company's strategy aligns with broader efforts to secure a stable supply of critical minerals in North America. The results of this drilling program could significantly enhance the project's resource base and potentially pave the way for future production.
