Crit Team, an independent studio under ChillyRoom Game, announced today that a public multiplayer demo for its upcoming top-down PvE extraction shooter, No Such Place, is now available on Steam. The demo launched on June 15, 2026, ahead of Steam Next Fest, and supports solo play as well as 1–4 player online co-op. It offers access to the game's early progression system, with part of the player's demo data carrying over into the full release. The demo is available in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
In No Such Place, players assume the role of agents from the Unknown Research Consortium (U.R.C.), a mysterious organization dedicated to investigating supernatural anomalies erased from known history. Dispatched into fragmented dimensions, players must survive hostile environments, gather supplies and intelligence, and locate an extraction point before time runs out. The game features exploration of abandoned military outposts, mist-shrouded research facilities, eternal forests, and frozen mountains. Along the way, players scavenge for weapons, medicine, equipment, and provisions while uncovering ancient relics, unidentified specimens, and highly classified documents.
Survival is paramount, and every mission ends with finding an extraction point to return to the Safehouse. Threats include not only monsters but also rival agents, mercenaries, and deranged survivors searching these shattered worlds for their own purposes. The game's weapon customization system utilizes corrupted technology, allowing players to attach a motorcycle suppressor to an assault rifle, mount a Victorian brass scope on modern military hardware, or slot a corrupted rifle magazine into a pocket pistol. Multiple progression paths enable players to grow stronger as they survive more missions, with physical attributes and weapon proficiencies increasing alongside experience.
Resources recovered during expeditions can be used to build and upgrade the player's Safehouse, turning scrap into a foundation for future survival. Teamwork is emphasized in 4-player co-op, where coordinated roles and teamwork allow squads to cover more ground, take on dangerous objectives, rescue each other, and maximize gains before extraction. The full game is slated for release in Q4 2026 on Steam, and the demo provides a taste of the early progression and cooperative gameplay that will be available.
