The Nordex Group has received orders from the EFG Energy Farming Group for the supply and installation of twelve wind turbines across several citizen wind projects in Lower Saxony, Germany. These projects, known as “Erlte-Endel” and “Bad Essen,” will have a combined installed capacity of approximately 82 MW. The contracts include 20-year Premium Service agreements, ensuring long-term operational support.
The “Erlte-Endel” wind farm, located in the district of Vechta, will feature five N175/6.X turbines mounted on hybrid towers with a hub height of 179 meters. The “Bad Essen” project cluster, in the district of Osnabrück, will comprise seven turbines: five N175/6.X units on 179-meter towers and two N163/6.X units with a hub height of 164 meters. This cluster includes four individual projects: Langewiesen-Nord, Langewiesen-Süd, Rabber Wiesen, and the Wimmerbruch repowering project.
Construction is expected to begin at the end of 2026, with turbine installation planned for 2027 and commissioning scheduled for spring 2028. These projects are developed by EFG Energy Farming Group and will be operated by landowners and regional citizen wind companies, emphasizing local involvement and benefits.
Reiner Borgmeyer, Managing Director of EFG Energy-Farming Holding GmbH, highlighted the collaborative nature of the projects: “With the wind farms in Erlte-Endel and Bad Essen, we are implementing two projects together with Nordex that demonstrate how wind energy use and regional value creation can go hand in hand. Landowners and community energy companies have been involved from the outset, ensuring that the energy transition remains firmly anchored locally.”
Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Europe of the Nordex Group, added: “These two projects are exemplary of the successful combination of regional commitment and modern wind energy technology. Together with our long-standing customer, the EFG Energy Farming Group, we are creating wind farms that not only make an important contribution to the energy transition, but also enable reliable and sustainable electricity generation for many years to come thanks to their high efficiency.”
The EFG Energy Farming Group, based in Bad Essen, has been developing and implementing wind energy projects in Germany for many years, supporting projects from site development to permitting and implementation. The Nordex Group, with over 64 GW of installed wind power capacity and a presence in more than 40 markets, focuses on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes, designed for regions with limited space and constrained grid capacity. These orders reinforce Nordex's commitment to advancing renewable energy in Germany while fostering regional economic benefits.
