OHB Digital Connect GmbH, a subsidiary of OHB SE, has completed the upgrade of military ground stations for the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw). The project involved replacing the existing technology of mobile ground stations with modern satellite communications hardware for the SATCOMBw system, enabling step-by-step modernization and return to the Bundeswehr.
The project concluded with a handover ceremony at Eifelkaserne in Gerolstein, where the final batch of four refurbished ground stations was delivered. This milestone marks the successful completion of a contract that began with the merger of OHB Digital Connect and antenna manufacturer MT Mechatronics, now part of the OHB Group. The collaboration between the Bremen and Mainz sites was essential for the project's success.
