Quantum BioPharma Reaches Halfway Enrollment in MS Imaging Study with Massachusetts General Hospital

Quantum BioPharma (NASDAQ: QNTM) (CSE: QNTM) announced that patient enrollment in its collaborative multiple sclerosis imaging study with Massachusetts General Hospital has reached the halfway mark. The study is evaluating a novel PET imaging technique using the [¹⁸F]3F4AP tracer to directly assess demyelination in MS patients. Preliminary imaging data have shown encouraging signal in acute MS lesions and potential sensitivity to gray matter lesions, which are often difficult to detect with conventional imaging.

The company believes this imaging approach could significantly enhance the development of MS therapies, including its investigational candidate Lucid-MS. In March 2026, Quantum submitted an Investigational New Drug (IND) application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a Phase 2 trial of Lucid-MS. Lucid-MS is a patented new chemical entity that has demonstrated the ability to prevent and reverse myelin degradation in preclinical models, addressing the underlying mechanism of multiple sclerosis.

“Reaching the midpoint of enrollment in this imaging study is a significant milestone,” said a company spokesperson. “The preliminary data are encouraging and support the potential of this imaging technique to provide valuable insights into demyelination and remyelination processes.” The study is being conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital, a leading institution in neurology and imaging research.

Quantum BioPharma is dedicated to building a portfolio of innovative assets for the treatment of neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders, as well as alcohol misuse disorders. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Lucid Psycheceuticals Inc., the company is focused on the research and development of Lucid-MS. Additionally, Quantum invented UNBUZZD™ and spun out its OTC version to Unbuzzd Wellness Inc., retaining a 19.84% ownership stake and royalty payments.
