Recruitment Operating System (ROS®) has announced the release of its updated and expanded Franchise Recruitment Manual, a resource designed to align with the operations of high-performing franchise recruitment teams. The manual was created in collaboration with FranMan, a company known for developing professional operating manuals. This update is the first significant revision since 2021 and aims to merge proven recruitment principles with modern tools and best practices.
Art Coley, founder and CEO of ROS®, emphasized that while the fundamentals of franchise recruitment remain unchanged, the tools, data, and technology available to recruiters have evolved. He stated, "Our job is to bring those pieces together without making recruitment more complicated. We want to take an already powerful resource and make it even more relevant to how champion recruiters operate today."
The ROS® Franchise Recruitment Manual has long served as a framework for franchise sales and development teams, outlining the primary roles and responsibilities of recruiters and guiding candidates through ROS®'s proprietary 8-Step recruitment process. However, the process and pace of franchise recruiting have significantly evolved since the last major update. Recruiters now have access to expanded datasets, AI-driven technologies, and more sophisticated candidate intelligence. The updated manual combines timeless recruitment principles with the latest tools and best practices needed to perform at the highest level.
Key updates in the manual include sections on recruitment analytics, which teach recruiters to use data and performance metrics to understand their pipeline and improve decision-making. The manual also incorporates practical best practices for using AI responsibly to support recruitment execution. Additionally, it expands on recruiter behaviors and performance, addressing daily, weekly, and monthly habits of high performers. Other updates cover different types of franchise buyers, including multi-unit and institutional candidates, candidate funding, FDD and recruitment process best practices, and modern learning and content integration with resources like ROS Academy™.
Lennon Coley, VP of Analytics at ROS®, highlighted the significance of the analytics guidance: "Historically, we’ve been very clear in our belief that analytics shouldn’t be limited to what you can access in an executive report - the information is far too valuable. We believe recruiters should have a crystal-clear understanding of their own numbers, including how they operate and where best to apply them. What we’ve accomplished by expanding our guidance in the analytics space is in tying their importance directly to recruiter behaviors and execution - which represents a significant step forward in the process."
The updated manual advances recruiting industry best practices, policies, operations, and standards. While staying faithful to bedrock principles, it incorporates the latest developments in procedures, tools, resources, and techniques, offering franchise recruitment professionals a holistic approach to continuous improvement.
