Licensed barber Seven Nelson has opened SevensCutAbove at the Salon and Spa Galleria Fort Worth Highway in Weatherford, Texas, offering a range of barber services with a focus on sensory-safe cuts. Nelson, a graduate of Weatherford College's Barber Program with two years of industry experience, grew up watching his mother style hair and turned his passion into a full-time career.
“I have a lot of passion for what I'm doing,” Nelson said. “I take my time with each client, to make certain that I execute the image they had in mind, along with providing laidback, chill vibes. It's important to me that every client leaves feeling confident again.”
At SevensCutAbove, Nelson provides sharp, detailed cuts including fades, low drops, tapers, hot-lather shaves, and beard shape-ups. He specializes in sensory-safe haircuts designed for individuals with sensory issues due to special needs or past haircut trauma. These cuts incorporate a soothing environment with softer lighting, quieter spaces, and flexible pacing with breaks. If clippers cause distress, Nelson uses scissors. “As a sensory-safe barber, I've learned how to work with kids in the spectrum,” he said. “My goal is to create trust, not trauma.”
Other services include quick line-ups, beard shape-ups, hot lather partial or full-face shaves, and simple cornrows. SevensCutAbove accepts new clients by appointment only via his booking site. To celebrate the grand opening, new clients receive a five-dollar discount on the third haircut and a ten-dollar discount on the sixth cut.
Located at the Salon and Spa Galleria Fort Worth Highway, the shop is near major roadways serving Weatherford, Hudson Oaks, Willow Park, Brock, Aledo, Walsh Ranch, and Mineral Wells. Free parking and handicap accessibility are available. Salon and Spa Galleria, with 23 U.S. locations, offers rental suites for beauty professionals. Nelson's commitment to accommodating clients with special needs highlights a growing trend in the barbering industry toward inclusive services. By creating a trauma-free environment, he aims to build trust and ensure every client leaves feeling confident.
