SMT Scharf AG Advances Strategy 2026 with Exclusive Cooperation in Kazakhstan and South Africa

SMT Scharf AG, a global leader in bespoke transport solutions for underground mining, is advancing its Strategy 2026 through new exclusive cooperation agreements with CFH Group in Kazakhstan and South Africa. The company announced today that it has entered into an exclusive dealership arrangement with CFH Group, a provider of air technology and environmental solutions for mining and tunneling. Under the agreement, CFH Group will serve as the exclusive dealer for all SMT Scharf products in Kazakhstan via its subsidiary CFT Kazakhstan T.O.O., while SMT Scharf Africa (Pty.) Ltd. will act as the exclusive dealer for CFH Group products in South Africa.

The partnership is a key component of SMT Scharf's Strategy 2026, which focuses on realigning global business activities, optimizing supply chain efficiency, and integrating Group locations. The strategy also emphasizes product portfolio diversification, particularly in electromobility and intelligent transport solutions, to meet growing demand for low-emission technologies. SMT Scharf has been developing light electric vehicles (LEVs) and battery-powered monorails, and has previously established cooperation with two Chinese suppliers in the LEV sector.

"With the Strategy 2026, we aim to enable SMT Scharf to better serve the demand for low-emission, high-quality transport solutions in underground mining and tunnel logistics in the future," said Longjiao Wang, CEO of SMT Scharf AG. "The exclusive cooperation now established with CFH Group for the Kazakh and South African market represents an important step in driving our expansion into relevant mining markets worldwide."

The agreements are designed to strengthen the local footprint in both regions and leverage synergies within the Group by integrating available products. SMT Scharf will continue to focus on key markets such as China and Poland while exploring further expansion opportunities. The company's product portfolio includes captivated railway systems, rubber-tyred diesel and electric vehicles, and chairlifts for mining and tunneling applications. As part of its diversification, SMT Scharf is advancing battery-powered transport solutions to support the global shift toward low-emission mining operations.
