SS Innovations International, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSII) announced today that its SSi Mantra surgical robotic system has received approval for telesurgeries in Indonesia and the Philippines. The company also reported that more than 150 cumulative telesurgeries have been successfully performed using the system, primarily in India, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of remote surgical technology.
Among recent demonstrations of the system’s capabilities, 18 inter-hospital telesurgeries were performed between Indore and Bhopal, India, on February 14, 2026, within an eight-hour period. These included 13 gastric bypass procedures by Dr. Mohit Bhandari from Mohak Bariatrics and Robotics in Indore and five complex gynecological surgeries by Dr. Priya Bhave Chittawar from HER Health Hospital in Bhopal. All procedures used the SSi MantrAsana Tele Surgeon Console, a compact, chair-based version of the surgeon command center that enhances portability and enables telesurgeries from various settings, including physician offices.
This achievement follows a previous telesurgery marathon on December 23, 2025, from SS Innovations’ headquarters, where nine surgeons performed 24 telesurgeries within 12 hours on patients across multiple Indian locations. The procedures spanned ten different types, including intricate cardiac surgeries.
“The SSi Mantra surgical robotic system continues to pioneer telesurgery, not merely in concept but in real-world practice and rapidly growing adoption by leading physicians,” said Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Chairman and CEO of SS Innovations. “We are thrilled to receive approval for telesurgeries utilizing the SSi Mantra in two new markets: Indonesia and the Philippines. We also are pleased to surpass the milestone of more than 150 telesurgeries successfully performed with the SSi Mantra, indicating that we are gaining significant traction in enabling state-of-the-art remote surgical care.”
The SSi Mantra’s advanced telesurgery capabilities allow for cross-sharing of physician expertise and dismantle traditional geographical barriers to care, furthering the company’s mission of equitable access to quality healthcare. The system is a modular, multi-arm platform with features such as an open-faced ergonomic surgeon command center, a large 3D 4K monitor, and over 40 types of robotic instruments supporting various specialties, including cardiac surgery.
SS Innovations is also hosting the Global Multi-Specialty Robotic Surgery Conference 2026 (SMRSC 2026) in New Delhi, India, from April 9-11, 2026. The conference will feature more than 20 live telesurgeries using the SSi Mantra, led by top experts. Registration is available at https://ssinnovations.com/SMRSC_2026/register/.
