Trailbreaker Resources Ltd. (TBK.V) has announced the completion of its maiden drill program at the Highlands Zone and the mobilization of the drill to the Swan Zone at the company's 100%-owned Atsutla Gold Project in northwestern British Columbia, Canada. The Swan Zone, located 26 kilometers from the Highlands Zone, is a copper-gold-silver porphyry target hosted in the Cretaceous Glundebery batholith, contrasting with the Highlands Zone which is hosted in the Jurassic Christmas Creek batholith.
CEO Daithi Mac Gearailt stated, "The Swan Zone continues to be one of the most compelling targets in Trailbreaker’s portfolio. Over the past five years we have developed this prospect from a new discovery and have added layers of data through systematic exploration." The company has conducted detailed geological mapping, soil geochemical surveys, induced polarization (IP) surveys, and airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys to define the drill targets.
The Swan Zone is defined by a 1.5 km by 1.5 km multi-element soil geochemical anomaly (gold, copper, silver, arsenic, molybdenum, antimony, bismuth), with rock grab samples grading up to 11.7 g/t gold, 212 g/t silver, and 0.81% copper. This anomaly coincides with a 2.1 km by 1.4 km donut-shaped chargeability high from a 2024 IP survey and a magnetic low signature indicative of elevated potassium from 2024 airborne surveys. Although limited historic drilling occurred in the adjacent valley, the Swan Zone itself has never been drilled.
The diamond drill program will test an estimated strike length of 1,000 meters to a vertical depth exceeding 400 meters, targeting surface geochemical and geophysical anomalies. The company expects this program to improve understanding of mineralization controls and support future drill campaigns. The completed Highlands Zone program consisted of four holes totaling 883.40 meters, testing a strike length of 500 meters and a vertical extent of 412 meters.
In September 2026, Trailbreaker plans to drill several copper-gold porphyry targets at the Coho property, 30 km northwest of the Mt. Milligan mine in central BC, as detailed in a May 25, 2026 news release.
The Atsutla Gold Project, centered over the regional Teslin-Thibert fault system, has outlined five significant gold mineralization zones since 2020: Highlands, Christmas Creek, Snook, Willie Jack, and Swan. The Swan Zone's porphyry target is a key focus due to its scale and geophysical signatures.
