Trollinger Law LLC Opens Nominations for Hometown Heroes Award to Honor Southern Maryland First Responders

Trollinger Law LLC, a Waldorf-based personal injury and workers' compensation law firm, has announced that nominations are now open for its annual Hometown Heroes Award. The initiative honors first responders across Charles County and Southern Maryland for their dedication and service to the community. Nominations will be accepted starting today, with winners to be announced on Oct. 5, 2026.

The award is open to all local emergency personnel, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, emergency response teams, public safety providers, emergency hospital workers, military service members, and other emergency workers. Each honoree will receive a $500 cash prize and four complimentary tickets to a luxury suite at the D.C. United game on October 24, where they will be celebrated alongside other awardees and members of the Trollinger Law team. Additionally, the honorees will be recognized on the field during halftime.

Past recipients have included current and retired members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Marine Corps, the Charles County Department of Emergency Medical Services, local police and fire departments, and volunteer rescue squads. This tradition underscores the firm's commitment to acknowledging the often-unseen sacrifices made by those who protect and serve.

Matt Trollinger, founder of Trollinger Law and a personal injury attorney, emphasized the importance of the award. "We started Hometown Heroes as a way to honor a group of people whose efforts to protect and serve others often happen behind the scenes, with no expectation of recognition," he said. "First responders help people and families during some of their darkest and most vulnerable hours. We're proud to express our appreciation for their courage and support."

The nomination process is straightforward, and questions can be directed to Dawn Williamson via email at dawn@trollingerlaw.com. Trollinger Law LLC represents injured individuals in Southern Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia in workers' compensation and personal injury cases, including car accidents, truck accidents, slip-and-fall accidents, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. The firm maintains offices in Waldorf, La Plata, and Frederick, Maryland, and offers free consultations. For more information, visit their website or call (301) 965-8500.

This annual recognition serves as a vital reminder of the invaluable contributions of first responders, who often operate behind the scenes to ensure community safety. By providing tangible rewards and public acknowledgment, Trollinger Law not only expresses gratitude but also encourages community members to reflect on the bravery and commitment of these local heroes. The award also fosters a sense of unity and appreciation that resonates throughout the region, reinforcing the importance of supporting those who dedicate their lives to helping others.
