In a significant development for the tokenization of real-world assets, tZERO Group, Inc. has announced that the digital asset security issued by Zion Peaks, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., is now accepting orders on the tZERO Securities Alternative Trading System (ATS), with trading expected to commence on August 12, 2026. The security, known as the “BABY” Digital Token, is linked to certain intellectual property associated with the buybuy BABY brand and was initially offered through a Regulation Crowdfunding (Reg CF) primary issuance conducted exclusively on the tZERO platform in 2025.
The transition from primary issuance to secondary trading is a critical step in the maturation of digital asset securities. It provides eligible investors with a regulated marketplace to transact the security, thereby offering liquidity and enabling price discovery. This move underscores the growing viability of blockchain-based financial infrastructure in supporting assets throughout their entire lifecycle, from capital formation to ongoing trading.
Alan Konevsky, Chief Executive Officer of tZERO, emphasized the importance of this development: “This transition from primary issuance to regulated secondary trading demonstrates how tokenization can support an asset throughout its lifecycle. By combining capital formation, digital issuance and secondary liquidity within regulated infrastructure, tZERO enables issuers to bring new categories of investable assets to market and establish an ongoing connection with their investor communities.”
The BABY Digital Token is designed to connect brand affinity with economic participation. Holders are entitled to receive an annual pro rata dividend derived from 1% of net sales from buybuyBABY.com, subject to Zion Peaks’ lawful ability to pay and declaration of the dividend. This model allows token holders to share in brand-related revenues while becoming engaged customers and advocates for the brand.
Zion Peaks is tokenizing intellectual property tied to the buybuy BABY brand through a model intended to allow token holders to share in brand-related revenues. The addition of the security to the tZERO Securities ATS further demonstrates the platform’s ability to support the complete lifecycle of tokenized securities and a broad range of asset types, including intellectual property-linked investments.

As the market for digital asset securities evolves, the successful integration of primary and secondary markets within regulated frameworks will be crucial for investor protection and market integrity. tZERO’s infrastructure, which is operated by its broker-dealer subsidiaries, is designed to provide institutional-grade solutions for issuers and investors alike, democratizing access to private assets.
The announcement also highlights the increasing acceptance of tokenized securities by market participants, as they offer benefits such as fractional ownership, enhanced liquidity, and transparent record-keeping. However, investors should be aware of the risks associated with digital asset securities, including potential lack of liquidity, price volatility, and unique risks such as fraud and theft.
