Uranium Energy Corp. Expands Production Capacity with Wyoming Approvals and Advances Conversion Facility Plans

Uranium Energy Corp. (NYSE American: UEC) announced regulatory approval and startup of three additional header houses at its Christensen Ranch project in Wyoming, supporting increased uranium production capacity. The company’s Burke Hollow project in Texas awaits final startup authorization, while additional infrastructure at Christensen Ranch remains under construction and pending approval. These developments mark a significant step in UEC’s strategy to scale up domestic uranium production.

In a parallel move, UEC’s subsidiary, United States Uranium Refining & Conversion Corp., received a docket number from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a planned uranium conversion facility. This milestone advances the licensing process for the facility, which is critical to UEC’s goal of becoming a vertically integrated U.S. nuclear fuel supplier. The conversion facility would process uranium into a form suitable for enrichment, reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.

UEC is America’s largest and fastest growing supplier of uranium for nuclear energy, utilizing environmentally friendly In-Situ Recovery (ISR) mining technology. The company operates hub-and-spoke platforms in South Texas and Wyoming, with a combined licensed production capacity of 12.1 million pounds U3O8 per year. These platforms are anchored by licensed Central Processing Plants (CPPs) and supported by multiple ISR uranium projects. In August 2024, ISR operations began at Christensen Ranch, sending uranium-loaded resin to the Irigaray CPP in Wyoming.

The company also holds a diversified portfolio including high-grade Canadian conventional projects, such as the world-class Roughrider project, one of the largest physical uranium inventories warehoused in the U.S., and a major equity stake in Uranium Royalty Corp., the only royalty company in the sector. This diversification positions UEC to meet growing demand for nuclear fuel as countries seek clean, reliable energy sources.

The expansion in Wyoming and progress on the conversion facility underscore UEC’s commitment to strengthening the domestic nuclear fuel supply chain. With the U.S. government emphasizing energy security and reducing dependence on foreign uranium, these developments align with national priorities. The company’s management team brings decades of hands-on experience in uranium exploration, development, mining, and production, ensuring operational expertise.
