VERAXA Biotech and OmniAb Advance Bispecific ADC Program VXA-222 Following Key Milestone

VERAXA Biotech AG (NASDAQ: VRXA) announced Tuesday that its bispecific antibody-drug conjugate (bsADC) program, VXA-222, has reached a key technical milestone in its collaboration with OmniAb (NASDAQ: OABI), allowing the program to advance to its next phase. The milestone, which OmniAb completed discovery work for, positions VXA-222 as a potential precision therapeutic for solid tumors.

VXA-222 is designed using an “AND-gate” approach, targeting two tumor antigens simultaneously with a single molecule. This strategy aims to improve specificity and reduce off-target effects compared to traditional ADCs, potentially offering a more precise treatment option for patients with solid tumors. The program builds on the collaboration launched in May 2025, where OmniAb contributed its antibody discovery technologies, including the OmniClic platform, and VERAXA applied its proprietary linker technology and conjugation expertise.

Under the terms of the collaboration, VERAXA holds exclusive rights to develop and commercialize any products arising from the partnership. OmniAb is entitled to a share of specified revenue generated from resulting products. The advancement of VXA-222 into the next phase underscores the progress in developing next-generation antibody-based therapeutics.

VERAXA focuses on discovering and developing antibody-based therapeutics, including bispecific T cell engagers, bispecific ADCs, and other innovative formats. The company leverages a suite of transformative technologies and quality-by-design principles to advance its pipeline of ADCs and proprietary BiTAC formats into clinical development. VERAXA was founded on scientific breakthroughs made at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).
