Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch, a veteran-owned women's boutique, has opened in the Lemon Creek Ranch development, serving the Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne communities. The boutique aims to address a gap in the local market for contemporary designer clothing, which previously required a 45-minute drive to San Antonio.
Owner Kelli Hull, a native Texan who returned after nearly 20 years in Washington, D.C., identified the need for a local boutique offering contemporary fashion. "It was really apparent to me that we had a fairly substantive gap in the market," Hull said. After a career in government contracting, she decided to pursue her bucket-list goal of opening a boutique.
Monkee's is a North Carolina-based franchise known for carrying major designer brands in small, neighborhood storefronts. Hull discovered the brand eight years ago in Raleigh, North Carolina. The franchise model provides collective buying power, allowing even new store owners to access major showrooms. Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch is the eighth location in Texas and approximately 67th nationwide.
The 1,200-square-foot boutique offers a curated selection of contemporary designers across various price points. Hull emphasizes a personal shopping experience, aiming to boost customer confidence. "When you look good, you feel good, and that projects out," she said. As a veteran-owned business in Military City USA, the boutique plans to support the military community.
Located in Bexar County, the store is accessible to residents of Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne.
