VOCIC has introduced the U32 Ultra Lightweight Manual Wheelchair, a foldable, self-propelled wheelchair designed to ease everyday mobility for seniors, caregivers, and families. Weighing just 23 lbs for the frame and 35 lbs total with wheels and leg rests, the U32 addresses the common frustrations of traditional manual wheelchairs, such as bulk, weight, and difficulty in maneuvering through tight spaces.
For many families, a wheelchair is not just for medical appointments; it becomes a part of daily life. The U32 is built to handle these everyday scenarios, from moving between rooms to loading into a car trunk. Its lightweight aluminum frame folds to a compact 12.6” x 26.8” size, and the quick-release rear wheels enhance portability, making storage and transport simpler for caregivers.
The U32 features flip-up armrests and swing-in/out footrests to facilitate easier transfers, which are critical for users moving from bed to chair or car seats. Height-adjustable armrests and footplates allow for a more customized fit. The seat measures 17.7” wide by 17” deep and includes a breathable cushion for comfort.
Caregiver handling is a priority, with rear push handles adjustable to four heights (37” to 40.5”) to suit different user statures. A rear stepper tube assists in tilting the chair over small obstacles like curbs. The U32 also provides dual braking systems: user-operated hand brakes and caregiver handle brakes, enhancing control and safety.
Safety features include rear reflectors for visibility, a safety belt, an anti-tip device, and a reinforced Double-X Base frame for stability. The narrow overall width of under 25.6 inches allows the chair to navigate standard doorways and narrow hallways with ease.
