Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has rapidly assembled a portfolio of past-producing tungsten assets in the United States, positioning itself to address the growing demand for secure domestic critical minerals. Since late 2025, the company has expanded its Nevada holdings, acquired a project in New Mexico, and initiated systematic exploration programs, with a clear focus on advancing toward drilling and potential resource definition.
Central to this strategy is the Eagle Point Tungsten Project in New Mexico, where Western Star aims to validate historical estimates and potentially establish a maiden mineral resource. The project boasts historical production of approximately 1,800 tons of scheelite-bearing material, historical U.S. Government estimates of significant near-surface tungsten mineralization, and modern surface sampling by the USGS returning up to 27.6% WO(3). Despite this promise, the system has seen limited historical drilling, and a U.S. Government-supported exploration program in the 1950s was never executed.
Western Star's plan for Eagle Point involves a systematic drill program to test the historically identified mineralized zones, investigate grade continuity, and evaluate extensions along strike and at depth. The company has engaged Dahrouge Geological Consulting to assist with technical evaluation and drill targeting. Subject to permitting and other considerations, Western Star is targeting a maiden drill program in 2026.
“Eagle Point is an important opportunity for Western Star because we are not starting from first principles,” said Blake Morgan, President and CEO. “The project has historical production, historical U.S. Government exploration, multiple skarn bodies exposed at surface, historical estimates of tungsten-bearing material and modern USGS sampling that returned up to 27.6% WO(3).”
Beyond Eagle Point, Western Star has expanded its Nevada position by approximately 170% at the Rowland Tungsten Property and acquired the adjacent White Star Tungsten Project, creating a six-kilometre prospective corridor. At Rowland, modern exploration has identified a one-kilometre tungsten-skarn geochemical corridor with peak soil results of approximately 0.14% WO(3), and drill permitting is underway. White Star, part of a historical mining complex with reported production of 10,000 tons grading 1.0% WO(3), is undergoing its first integrated modern exploration program.
The company's strategy is to define and expand its tungsten resources, aiming to contribute to a secure North American critical-mineral supply chain. With a strengthened treasury from an oversubscribed private placement of approximately C$3.69 million, Western Star is well-funded for its 2026 exploration plans.
The company has also submitted an application to the U.S. Defense Industrial Base Consortium, reflecting its alignment with national priorities for reliable supplies of strategic critical minerals. Western Star's progress is underscored by its commitment to disciplined execution, transitioning from portfolio assembly to drilling and potential resource definition.
“In less than a year, Western Star has assembled three past-producing U.S. tungsten projects, strengthened its balance sheet, put technical teams in the field and begun moving these assets toward drilling,” added Morgan. “The next phase is execution.”

The 2026 drilling plans at Eagle Point and Rowland represent critical steps toward unlocking the potential of these historically productive assets.
