Western Star Resources Identifies New Tungsten Targets with UAV Magnetic Survey at White Star Project

Western Star Resources' high-resolution UAV magnetic survey at the White Star Tungsten Project in Nevada has identified a previously unmapped intrusive granite body and multiple magnetic lineaments, significantly advancing exploration for tungsten-bearing skarn mineralization and providing a modern geophysical framework for district-scale targeting.

Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) has released the results of a high-resolution UAV magnetic geophysical survey at its White Star Tungsten Project in Elko County, Nevada. The survey, the first modern geophysical dataset acquired across the property, was designed to refine the geological model, identify prospective targets, and improve understanding of structural controls on mineralization.

The survey processed Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI), First Vertical Derivative (1VD), Second Vertical Derivative (2VD), and Analytical Signal (AS) products. Key findings include a northwest-southeast-trending magnetic lineament associated with the historical Batholith mine and adit, and a broad magnetic high in the western part of the property interpreted as a previously unmapped extension of the intrusive granite (quartz monzonite) believed to be linked to tungsten-bearing skarn. This interpreted intrusive body is adjacent to mapped carbonate units, defining a new area prospective for contact skarn-hosted tungsten mineralization. Multiple magnetic lineaments identified are interpreted as fault and fracture zones that may have served as pathways for hydrothermal fluids.

The interpreted intrusive body identified in the high-resolution magnetic data has generated a significant new area of interest, where the contact between the granite and surrounding carbonate rocks may provide a favorable setting for tungsten skarn mineralization.”

The survey covered the White Star area, which previously had only 1960s-era data with 1-mile line spacing. The new data reveals that the central intrusive complex is more extensive and internally complex, with multiple discrete magnetic bodies consistent with apophyses of the quartz monzonite intrusion. The geological model involves a quartz monzonite intrusion (Kqm) invading Paleozoic sedimentary rocks, reacting with limestone (Pzl) to produce garnet–diopside tactite and hornfels (Pzt) that host scheelite. The Batholith mine workings sit within this tactite.

Four target zones have been defined for follow-up: the central Kqm–Pzt contact north of the Batholith Mine (highest priority), the northern Pzt body within the northern Kqm, the southern limestone corridor hosting discrete magnetic features analogous to the Batholith Mine, and the historical open pit area where contact geology may continue beneath Quaternary cover.

The White Star UAV magnetic survey was flown to the same specifications as the recently completed Rowland UAV magnetic survey, enabling the two datasets to be processed as a single district-scale magnetic product spanning the consolidated Jarbidge–Charleston tungsten footprint. The combined dataset is undergoing geophysical inversion and will be announced once completed. This integration will support district-scale targeting between the White Star workings and the Rowland Tungsten Property.

The geophysical results will be integrated with pending rock-chip and soil geochemistry data to guide follow-up exploration and refine potential drill targets. The survey was conducted with QA/QC protocols, and data processing used Geosoft Oasis Montaj by Warren Hughes at East Coast Consulting. All maps are presented in NAD 1984 UTM Zone 11N.
